Commvault Strengthens Cloud-First Cyber Resilience on AWS

At Commvault SHIFT on October 8, 2024, Commvault announced the availability of its Commvault® Cloud cyber resilience platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS), delivering advanced solutions for data protection and recovery to cloud-first enterprises. This move addresses growing cybersecurity demands as more businesses shift to cloud environments, where 73% of new data is now stored.

Commvault’s platform includes key features such as:

  • Cloud Rewind: Based on Appranix technology, it acts as an AWS “time machine,” allowing businesses to revert to clean data and restore cloud applications quickly after an attack.
  • Cyber Resilience for Amazon S3: Utilising technology from Commvault’s Clumio acquisition, this feature enables Amazon S3 users to recover malware-free data, vital for safeguarding large datasets such as AI and ML workloads.
  • Air Gap Protect: Provides immutable, isolated data backups in a Commvault-managed tenant, ensuring an extra layer of defence.
  • Cleanroom Recovery: Automates the provisioning of secure recovery environments on AWS, enabling rapid restoration of workloads while facilitating forensic investigations.

These offerings, now available on AWS Marketplace, build on Commvault’s existing presence, where exabytes of data are already backed up on AWS. By leveraging this comprehensive solution, enterprises can enhance their cyber resilience, decrease recovery times, and safeguard critical cloud applications in the face of increasing cyber threats.
