Cequence Security, the leading provider of Unified API Protection, today announced the appointment of Glen Maloney as ANZ Country Lead to accelerate the company’s expansion in Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Sydney, Maloney joins Cequence Security with more than 20 years of new business development and account management experience in the cybersecurity industry. Most recently, Maloney was ANZ Regional Sales Manager at ExtraHop where he successfully drove the company’s regional business strategy for growth and oversaw the initial launch of its partner strategy with distributors, resellers, and systems integrators across the region.
Prior, Maloney worked at Sophos for more than 15 years across several roles, including as Senior Enterprise Executive and Business Development Manager. During this time he worked closely with target accounts both in the private and public sectors to reinforce their cybersecurity posture. Earlier in his career, Maloney also worked as an Enterprise Sales Executive at Check Point Software.
Glen Maloney said, “APIs have become a strategic necessity for business because they aid flexibility and agility, yet many organisations aren’t deploying a solution that covers the entire API lifecycle leaving them vulnerable to a breach. Leaving an opening in your API security strategy is resulting in regular reports of API related security breaches that cause downtime, data loss and financial problems for victims.
“Today, organisations need to be confident that their APIs are providing the level of secure and reliable service required and in Cequence Security they have a partner to support these security frameworks. I’m excited to join Cequence Security at this critical time in the API security market and to support Australia’s hyper-connected enterprises with market-leading protection for their API-based applications. “
Cequence Security’s unique approach to uncovering and preventing API breaches that can lead to fraud and data loss has resulted in the company protecting US$1.3 trillion in assets among Fortune 500 companies and more than two billion user accounts worldwide. During 2022, the company added new customers including the largest carrier in Australia and two of the top three telecom companies in the U.S.
Cequence Security offers the most complete API security solution in the market, compared to point products. The Cequence Unified API Platform is the only solution that implements a continuous API security protection lifecycle that includes discovery, inventory, compliance, threat detection, threat prevention and testing.
Ameya Talwalkar, founder and CEO of Cequence Security, said, “We are excited to expand our business in Australia and New Zealand and to appoint Glen to help further our business growth across the region through working closely with our customers and partners. His two decades of cybersecurity experience, insight, and work with many of the region’s leading enterprises will ensure that we can support customers to take full advantage of their investments and trust of the Cequence Unified API Protection solutions in today’s digital-first business world.”
