It is the end of an era in the Australian Security Industry as the Attorney-General’s Department today announced that the Security in Government Conference will no longer run.
It has been announced that the Security in Government (SIG) conference, hosted by the Attorney-General’s Department in September 2015, was the final SIG conference. From 2016, the Department will be adopting an agile approach using smaller, targeted activities to improve security culture across government and engagement with the security industry.
The SIG conference over past years has successfully provided a platform to develop productive partnerships between government and industry. These partnerships have fostered positive relationships and awareness of the importance of protective security across government.
The Attorney-General’s Department states that it is developing a new approach to establish a robust and dynamic security culture that is more responsive to the changing risk environment.
